Personally, my friends and I all played D2 offline, either single player or LAN. Sometimes I did TCIP with my sister after she moved.

I did log into Battle.net once, though. Can't remember if it was for D2 or Warcraft III. Someone was spaming "FSCK.YOU."

If I remember correctly, the experience isn't that grand. All I remember from my below-level 20 characters is running around trying to get the materials I needed for my skills (herbs and ores) but there always being high-level characters with epic mounts grinding for copper and iron to sell in the auction hall, standing in line for quest-related spawns, and the unexplained fact that while only one in twenty murlocks have an eyeball, they're fairly effective warriors.

Actually, I think E and V are different types of codes. Diseases, injuries and procedures are just numbers. E codes show injuries that were caused by external forces. I can't remember V off the top of my head; I think they're types of office visits.

I, for one, generally enjoy GTA games but have zero interest in Duke Nukem, South Park or Beavis and Butthead. GTA isn't my favorite game, but it doesn't make me run from the room like Beavis or that talking poop would. Not liking crude humor doesn't mean a person fears controversy.

And me without mod points. This is defnitely true in my case. I quit WoW when my friends quit it. I had no pleasure trying to grind away with just random jerks running around. Despite all the patches and expansions, I haven't had any urge to go back.

I saw on the BBC live feed that one of the reporters heard from the Pentagon that there are pictures, but they are generally considered too bloody to be released to the general public. I'm glad to see it. I did not know there were DRM issues with this game, and was considering a purchase since I've heard good things about the original. It's part of why I never preorder a PC game.

You can't have mine! I don't have the common Slashdotter problem of not using my Wii. I have to fight with my significant other so I can play my games; he's been playing Rock Band 3 almost daily since release (laugh if you want XBox fans, but he got his keyboard on release, not three months later). I used to have two consoles per generation (a PlayStation and a Nintendo) but now I just have the Wii (and DS) and have no complaints. Except that there's no Pikmin 3 yet.

Maybe I browse with my settings too high, but I rarely see someone denying the existance of a god on /. moderated as a troll. I do see a lot of people saying they'll be moderated a troll for not believeing in a god being moderated Insightful, which makes no sense given the trend.

It's nice to help people and all, but it can also be a bit annoying. One of the last times I was playing (years ago), I was in that Sleepy Hallow themed human town and was just proclaimed the savior of the land. That was nice and all, but just at that moment someone had failed to kill Stitches along the road and he was wreaking havoc just a few yards away. I didn't feel like much of a savior. And I know that if I logged in today, all the problems I "solved" will still be unsolved. I might try Guild Wars 2 if they don't want a monthly fee. Then I won't feel bad to drop it when it gets stale, having invested only $60ish in the game instead of the $450ish I paid for about two years of WoW.
