It's common rumor, though I'm unable to find a source right now, that Starcraft was originally designed to be an RTS version of Space Hulk. You've got the Marines/Marines, Zerg/Tyaranids, Protoss/Tau. Someone who's not at work might be more enterprising than I and actually be able to find a source on this.

I want to preface by saying that I absolutely agree that this is harassment and threatening behaviour.

However, I can say with certaintly that HR does not care one single bit. HR really couldn't care either way on most issues. They do their job. That job is to protect the company and its higher ups.

If a low level employee sent this, then yes, absolutely, they'd be terminated.

Now, when a low level employee brings these concerns to HR, they'll be informed that it is not in fact threatening, but rather a reminder of company policies regardling leaks and an assurance from the VP that he personally takes those policies very seriously. Then she'll offer some candy from the bowl on her desk and ask you if you've remembered to signup for this weekend's company picnic.

If you're paying the premium to host in Manhattan, you're doing so because latency is a big deal to you.

Unfortuantely for me, all of Seamonkey's "extra features" make it less desirable for me.

In fact, I can't use it at all on my work machine - no software that can access IRC allowed = no Seamonkey :(

This is exactly what I was confused about. If something can run on commodity PCs but requires a 10Gbps connection, it's not something that's going to be ready for prime time for quite a while.

TFS mentions that Freeside makes their money on support. Here's the caveat - you need it.

I spent a full work week, with the assitance of several high level (in charge of thousands of servers, been doing it for 10+ years) admins and perl programmers (Freeside's native tounge) attempting to install it. To put it shortly, the documentation is terrible. I discovered over seventy undocumented modules, not including those modules required modules, that were required simply to even install the thing. We spoke to one of the developers on the project who basically told us this difficulty was intended and let us know he'd be extremely impressed if we got it installed without his help.

So yea, it's free... If you don't mind either paying them to install it or spending an inordinate amount of time installing and configuring it.
