Journal Journal: The upcoming changes in the subscription model 2

As you noticed, our subcription model doesn't give us much revenue. Yes, we got some money from you, the lovely users, and also from the ads above, but it's far from enough.

Our subscription model was wrong from the first place, as it was based on ad-blocking. And nobody cares about ad-blocking anyway, so most people set in their configuration to block one ad per day, and that allows them to enjoy the "plums" for almost 3 years, and all that for 5 bucks.

Journal Journal: CmderTaco Talkback: Picking a Wiener 6

In his latest journal entry, CmdrTaco talks about how hard it is to pick a winner in the new /. t-shirt contest. Discuss?

UPDATE about something else: Slash won't let me write Hebrew in UTF-8 anymore! It saves it all right, but mangles the output when you try to view the journal (seems that it strips all the high ASCII chars). How nice of you.

Journal Journal: CmderTaco Talkback - Quadrate feature! 10

Sorry for posting so late. I've been busy.
CmdrTaco posted 4 articles that want to get reponses:
This journal entry welcomes a new slashdot employee called Tim Vroom who replaces krow. (I want to work in slashdot too. Is that a good work place? Do you get doughnuts?)
That journal entry is the place where Taco shares us his ponders about expanding M2 so you can know if

Journal Journal: Announcing: CmderTaco Talkback! 4

CmdrTaco has been criticized many times for not letting people comment in his journal. Unlike Rusty, CmdrTaco triggers a lot of attention, both positive and negative, wherever he goes, so it's hard for him.

Real Time Strategy (Games)

Journal Journal: Google regular expression search!

Good news everyone!
Google is once again breaking the search engine limits by offering a new feature: regular expression search. Using this thing you can finally search things exactly the way you want, starting from specifying what should come first and what should come last, and finishing with wild wildcard searches, like "give me all the words on the internet that contain 2 letters which repeat themselves t

Journal Journal: Answer my journals, you fucking bitches 9

Why nobody answers what I'm writing here, ha? It pisses me off that I write all that trolling stuff from my heart, and yet it gets no reply!

So start answering me or either I start kicking ass or just die here, like I did in Geekizoid.

Journal Journal: Subscribers can beat the rush and see the story early

"The next Slashdot story will be ready soon, but subscribers can beat the rush and see it early!"

Friends, Hunters, Peasants and Countrymen, give me your money!

We are in a deep trouble, my sons. We need more money or else we're going to die! Yes, I had a talk with Mr. Big Boss from OSDN and he told me that if we don't get a lot of money, then all of us are going to get the sack!

Journal Journal: Help OSDN to find a new logo 5

Hi folks!

Hear a sad story.. we paid a lot to our design company for the OSDN logo, and we used that logo for a long time, even that it's not too pleasant, but today we realized a very sad thing:

The O in in the OSDN logo has a dot in it. That dot usually means that it's not a letter, but a digit (zero), and we don't want that the first character in our logo will have such an horrible implication.

Journal Journal: What subscription gives you 2

Wondered what you get when you subscribe? since haven't seen anyone doing this list before, and the list in the faq is incomplete, I, out of purely altruistic reasons, will make this list myself.

See stories before they get posted to the public (Plum of the future): In reality you don't get to see a lot of the "red stories", and when you see them, you can't post to them nor know when will they go to the front page.

The Internet

Journal Journal: Can you trust proxies? 7

As you remember, I recommended on using your ISP proxy, so people won't be able to find your IP and abuse it and stuff.

So today I created a new account for myself (wanted to make a fresh new start) And look what was in the email I received from slashdot:
