that's part of the adventures of man kind - if they don't land something on it they for sure can not claim it - if they do, then they have an something to fight for.

Much like the wide west of North America in the 17-1800's at first it was anyone's, and it wasn't till it was mapped that then it was homesteads - now we have property records.

Space is the next frontier, some would even say it's the final frontier.......

i'd Argue that UAE / Israel / Egypt would all have the capability for GPS spoofing in the area - with Israel having the most compelling reason to do it.. By spoofing and causing drift, they would be able to shift the navigation of anything in the air relying on GPS.. while commercial flight is unlikely to be their target, i can see them doing it for short periods of time when they detect incoming rockets/guided munitions which may be GPS guided.

that's not how stock buy backs work at all - due to the risk of abuse as you suggest - the SEC requires buy backs to be announced and date/schedules set - and they be "market" orders from a matching settlement standpoint. Best they could do to rig it is set price limits, which is actually risk midigation for the company and all stock holders.

for the company to buy out a specific person or group - would require public transparency / board vote / and likely a general stock vote.

I'd be easer for them to just keep getting away with their current get rich quick schemes and keep awarding themselves massive stock bonuses at significantly reduced option pricing..

agreed - this seems like a money grab at a corporation - i can assure you that in any body of water that has a telcom cable with lead cladding - there is significantly more lead in that body of water from lost fishing weights! it wasn't till the early 2000s that states started banning the use of Lead in fishing weights, and there are a lot of tackle for sale even now that is made of lead....

Finding lead leaching out is important to know - but actual PPM maters for quantifying the actual risk profile..

At this point i don't care what they rename it as - just don't F'in kill it like the other Google Projects.. I've got ~10y left where i need a work phone, after that they can do what they want and i'll not have a phone....

What you are referring to " was warned about by those evil republicans " is called projecting - and even foreshadowing of their actions. More in the tone of " if you do this we will do that ".

I'm not saying that republicans are actively setting up the "panels" as referred to them - but they are the #1 reason why we STILL have the only for profit healthcare system in the modern world.

And as someone a few comments above mentioned - there has to be some point of reality applied (how much is it worth to extend X's life by Y length? and when is that unbalanced and unreasonable?

But all a for profit healthcare system is going to do is ALWAYS drive up the costs, because they gotta make their money, doesn't really matter the impact on individuals (or the population really).

So under a For Profit Healthcare System - which Republicans fight tooth and nail to keep vs. going single payer Public service like the rest of the modern world - the cost of services will be significantly higher and incentives to help people lower and ultimately it will kill more people - period.
