Purchased a 1,000 page subscription for the hell of it. I've been using Slashdot for years, I suppose its time to support it a smidge.

How Google Ranks Videos 69

Nirnimesh writes "Google reveals their ranking system for videos on the official blog. The system lists videos according to their country-wide popularity. From the article: 'We use algorithms to identify videos that are suddenly becoming popular, and then rank them based on how popular they are -- and how suddenly they became popular. We've been using this list internally, and now it's ready to share with you, so check it out. Right now this feature highlights videos from close to 40 countries, including Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Hong Kong, India, Israel, Japan, South Korea, Mexico, and New Zealand, to name a few.'"

Well, if you liked that, then I have to reccommend a related site, FiveMinute.Net. It is also a related parody site, where movies, Star Trek, Science Fiction, and all sorts of shows are compressed into a Five-Minute format, very much like the site mentioned in the news article. However, there's all sorts of extras, and it covers 100's of episodes, series, and movies!

FiveMinute.Net truly is hilarous, and has been around since June 2000. Check it out!

Okay, so in the first situation he votes against it, and the first pirate gets thrown overboard.

In the second situation he votes against it, and the second pirate gets thrown overboard.

But in the third situation, there are only three pirates left (3, 4 and 5). #3 knows that #5 will vote against it, but he only needs two votes to survive. #4 will vote for this proposal whatever he's offered, because he doesn't want to propose something that #5 might reject.

So #3 proposes that he gets all 100 gold pieces. #4 agrees, because he doesn't want to die. #5 rejects it, but it's two votes to one, and he gets nothing.

Whatever he's offered in the first proposal is better than what he would get offered in the second proposal, which is better than nothing (what he would get from the third proposal).

Journal Journal: OCA/OCP Ninwa

Passed the oracle 1z0-007 today, which means that at seventeen years of age, I'm officially an OCA/OCP. It almost sounds weird, but it's Oracle Certified Associate/Professional. More at my blog . It's exciting to have obtained my first real certification, and even more so to be the first in the history of the class (5 Years Now) to ever pass it (with a few points to spare!)
