Except of course when I went back to Kodi for a short stint about 6 or 7 years ago it was just as unreliable, hell maybe I am just unlucky. But it seemed every other week the plugins would stop working or playback would become unreliable (this time sound would randomly die), that is when I finally bit the bullet and jumped to Plex. Plex I don't like the interface and it doesn't have the flexibility but it just works seamlessly and has apps for all my devices so I doubt I would ever go back to Kodi now.

I used to use it back in the Xbox Media Centre days. Amusingly I ditched it because it was extremely unreliable and such a hassle to keep running. constantly crashing, needing updates, playback randomly stopping mid movie etc. I would always get calls while on business trips from my wife how to fix or restart it. Then when I had a power surge that killed the Xbox media extenders and various other devices I used that as a chance to ditch that shit.

They were never intended as anti theft devices to begin with. They were also never meant as stalking devices which is something they are also being used for which hopefully this feature helps prevent.

Plex is crappy, but it is significantly better than any of the open source alternatives, Over the years have used everything from Kodi and Jellyfin and many other media streaming services, most are too buggy, unrealiable or require constant technical attention to keep running which means they are not wife friendly. So as much as I dislike Plex I have the lifetime sub (purchased when it was cheap) and will continue to use it for pirate content.

Plex is a pain in the arse to use, I only use it for pirated content.

Logically it makes sense as the assets of the company don't remotely make sense for the share price. BUT, the market is not always rational and when it comes to MAGA supporters that irrationality is magnified exponentially so I certainly wouldn't be taking this gamble even though every financial analysis says it should collapse.

whats happened is a combination of bad journalism and lazy slashdot editors creating a perfect storm of incompetence. the 18.9billion is purely for the foundry and is a 31% reduction from the previous years $27.49 billion. For some reason someone has incorrectly thrown in INTEL's total revenue from the previous year which was $63billion. comparing apples and watermelons, 2023 total revenue was down 14.4% to $54billion.

Confused, Did they actually block it or do as they said in the article and ask "please don't talk to her". Not wanting to defend Apple as they are scum, but asking is not a problem, actively blocking is.

There are no slow browsers any more. Trying to jump on niche "fastest" browser is pointless dick measuring. Your web page will load 0.1 seconds faster than the average browser at most. if you want to target for performance look at memory use/CPU use/Ad blocking/security/privacy etc.

MS has been making decent money from Xbox for a long LONG time. That article points out it is the record 1st quarter, not THE first quarter of making a profit.

Lots of streaming services is fine, Lots of streaming services each with exclusive or timed content sucks balls. I too have gone back to the high seas since Disney came along, prior to that I had all but stopped pirating, but then the splintering of content happened so fuck them.
