You do know that there are studies about HCQ and covid-19 that shows no increase in lethality.. It did not show any benefit when used alone, in the set conditions, but it did prove it to be safe.

Making your statements that test-tube studies are not evidence is laughable. None of these have ever been claimed to be proof of HCQ.. They have been in response to people stating that there is *NO* evidence.

There is quite a lot of evidence that it is effective... What i want to see are real double-blind studies of this to give actual proof.

HCQ + Zinc was proven to be effective against SARS, and that is quite similar to COVID-19. It works by HCQ allowing Zinc to enter the cell and disrupting the virus to multiply.

The big question for me is more in terms of... Does it work if administered when a patient arrives at the hospital with symptoms? How far gone can the patient be before HCQ stops being a useful drug.

Death's will not skyrocket as long as we keep an eye on the infection-rates and do social-distancing and good hygiene. (flatten the curve)

It will probably cause a lot more people to die, but even loosing 1% of the population (and that would be horrific) would not be too bad with the economy..
If we turn to the dark side and have a look at who's the most in risk it falls to the older generations such as 60+ and the majority of those are retired. Second would be 40+ that are in the risk-zone to get it a bit serious, but not as deadly, that will probably suffer some damage (lung-scarring and other organ damage) but they will survive but require more healthcare in the future..
So not too much damage to the economy, but the human loss will be felt for quite some time.

If we do not open up, to some appropriate level, we will break the economy and we will not have any food on our tables. What will you do when all supermarkets in your city has been looted and you run out of food?
All supply-lines are so interconnected today so if they break too much everything just stop working.. Farmers not being able to transport food to cities since no spare parts for the trucks are available.. Spare parts for the trucks cannot be produced since there is no electricity at the machine-shop.. The power-plant cannot produce power because there are no people there to run it since they are all out looking for food... (extremely simplified flow..)..

Now think about what is needed to produce that computer that powers your phone or car or everything needed to keep the power-grid running.

Now it is.. If we would have had the chance to react in December we could have contained it... Now it's too widespread to handle.

Hoping that we will be able to do heard-immunity via vaccines... And if that fails hope that we find some prophylactics we can administer at home until we get a vaccine.

When governments continue to bail out companies like these they will never learn and come to expect that the government will be there to save them.
If you let them fail you will still have a market that wants/needs the service and other companies can then step in and provide services and hopefully those new companies will then hopefully have learned not to expect bailouts in the future.

Bailouts are more or less the same thing as allowing private companies to tax your income to fund their non-existing planning.
