Feed News: Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened (penny-arcade.com)

Tycho: You might have remembered me freaking out about this adventure game from Frogwares, as it is basically a mashup of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and H. P. Lovecraft. Really kind of unfair, I think, to bait the trap so richly. Unsporting, in a way. It was brought to the front of my mind by the review over at Gamespot, where it picked up decent marks. I hit up the websites for Gamestop and EB to track down the exact release date, and (apropos to today's discussion) there is no entry for it in either database. The game is completely incorporeal. It is available digitally, however, should you find yourself inexorably drawn.(CW)TB

Submission + - Sony and T-mobile team up with Free Wi-Fi for PSP

jayintune writes: "2old2play is reporting on a new promotion from T-Mobile that is offering its HotSpot Wi-Fi service for the PSP, free for 6 months. All you need to do is download the latest system update to your PSP, 3.30 and go the a T-Mobile HotSpot, choose the "Use Wireless HotSpot" option and follow the instructions to get connected. The question is, with the Nintendo DS already giving away HotSpots with its current partners, will this really help Sony to sell more PSPs?"

The company developed a software which splits a single wireless network (found on many homes these days) into two completely separated ones. After installing the software the user will maintain his private secured connection but add a second public network (a sort of personal hotspot)."

Submission + - Dell Sneaking Keyloggers into their Laptops?

James Allanson writes: "Immagine that the government was listening in to your phone calls — you've heard about them bugging terrorists, but surely they wouldn't bother with you right? Wrong. This article (although old) shows that dell have been shipping laptops with keyloggers built in. Dell claim that "The intregrated service tag identifier is there for assisting customers in the event of lost or misplaced personal information." However the Department of Homeland Security says that information about the circuit is "... exempt from being disclosed under the FOIA [Freedom of Information Act]." Very fishy."
