Comment Relevant online lecture (Score 5, Informative) 225

I can't help but think that the current series of Reith Lectures presented by the Professor Neil Ferguson is pertinent here.

The lectures are quite long at about an hour each, and there are only three of the final four available so far, but it is worth the taking the time to listen to what he has to say. If you are short of time, skip to the third episode where he explains that the rule of law has become the rule of lawyers and why this is bad for the economy.

I'm sorry, but I take those phone operator web sites with a large pinch of salt. For all I know, Microsoft or Nokia paid to get the Lumia listed as 'best sellers'. In any case, given the amount of astro-turfing these days, I certainly wouldn't pay any attention to the approval ratings or reviews.

The people with the biggest guns win, and trust me your poxy little pea shooter is nothing compared to a tooled up marine. You'll hit the dirt before you so much as see the guy piloting the drone that killed you, let alone get to actually shoot the damn thing at a government official.

They didn't take your guns away because they were scared of you, they took them away because too many people were going postal with them.

Ummmm... no, they've cheated in that screen shot by removing the (admittedly pointless) header above the list of files to compensate for the extra space taken up by the ribbon bar. We don't know whether the header is gone completely or if they changed a configuration option, but either way this is not a like-for-like comparison: there is less available space for the application.
