The CEO of Cartoon Network has resigned over the bomb scare. Turner ended up paying over 2 million in restitution and the city of Boston coming to a stand still over some lite brites. I for one do not want to live in a glass box being scared of everything, and with governments over reacting just fuels the fear. Are we becoming scared of our own shadow?

Looks like the Wii is out to a great start. Standard & Poor's equity analyst Clyde Montevirgen said "Nintendo Wii won the launch phase." Microsoft sold only 607,000 Xbox 360s, Sony sold 687,000 PS3s (debatable whether shipped = sold) and Nintendo sold 1.1 million since launch. Will Nintendo Wii catch the 360 10 million units, or will it surpass PS2 100 million unit record. Only time will tell.

Besides being the two richest people of the world, Bill Gates and Warren Buffett can now eat free at Hooters. They still have to pay for their drinks. Some people have all the luck.

Bloomberg is reporting that Microsoft considered an Apple/Ipod partnership before it released it's own MP3 player the Zune. Microsoft was displeased with thier current MP3 players partnerships on the market, notably Creative and Dell. The article then goes into talking about anti-trust lawsuits. It also mentions Allchin who was heading Longhorn as saying "I would buy a Mac today if I was not working at Microsoft."
If this Apple/Microsoft partnership was formed how would this have changed the Microsoft and Apple dynamics?

Looks like MySpace is being sued again for allowing sexual assaults.
Seriously, were where the parents on these? Are we becoming a litigation society, looking to blame anyone but our selfs?

After years of wishing it, looks like with Vista Ultimate you may be able to purchase additional family licenses for between $49-$99. By having an affordable option, will this help reduce piracy? I know I would pay $50 for an additional license for my laptop or kids computer.

Business Week has a nice impartial view from IMHO the average joe stand point.
It sums it up nicely in the nice paragraph:
"But will the PS3 be worth it in the end? There can't be a doubt. At a base level, Sony has achieved every function essential for this system to compete with the 360. You can argue the finer points, but if you suggest that the PS3 isn't exactly what it needs to be, you're simply wrong. It's the inheritor of the PlayStation legacy, and it's also a system that is a technical powerhouse and an attractive one, too. The PS3 is a must-buy — eventually. But is it worth $600 and a night in a parking lot? Not a chance."
Let the fanboys figure it out and let me know what to buy next Christmas.

According to Market Share Mac is actually losing market share. Most of Windows XP gains probably is from the migration of older 2000 and 98 systems. The silver lining is that other (read Linux) is up half a percentage point.

CNN has an article about donating your PS3's down time to help research cure Alzheimer's, Parkinson's or mad cow disease. The article talks about the PS3's horsepower that goes unused (while not playing games of couse). Is this heartfelt move or more of a marketing ploy?
