The next government will rescind this. And then the next leftie government who gets in after them will try to bring it back. And round and round we go.
Much like 2008 should have been played, we need banks, but we don't need _these_ banks. Fuck'em. If we really run out of banks it's much cheaper to capitalize some new ones that taxpayers can profit off of.
The military power could largely fall apart in a few years if the world stops believing in the long term viability of the US dollar. The debt curve is not in your favor.
Well, right now, my gas furnace is my backup. I'd probably never need the coil, but since it does get cold enough here to freeze, a couple hundred bucks for backup is fine.
I've had both for 7 years and the furnace broke down once. The heat pump hasn't broken down. And I do use it and love it for air conditioning.
Just my experience, but my city has already banned natural gas in new builds, you should expect that to happen to you too.
I heat almost exclusively with a heat pump, and our heating season is much longer than our cooling season. It is a mild climate though, it never gets below -12C here and rarely below -6. If you live somewhere really cold a ground source heat pump would be way more efficient, albeit expensive to install.
While this house did come with a gas furnace too, I plan to get rid of it when the heat pump needs replacing, and just get a nice multi-speed heat pump with a resistance coil for backup.
Yeah, we all want to live in the bullshit police state that it would take to enforce that. Are you insane?
No, I kind of want to know if someone is felon before deciding to hire them and risk my business on their character.

No, Jerry Pournelle said it best when said that the US should have a Chief Voodoo Practitioner instead of a Chief Economist. They'd be right just as often but at least fewer people would take them seriously.
Many (most?) townhouses will need electrical upgrades to charge at home. Even today they're being built with 100 amp service around here since the heat is natural gas.
Or if the parking is on strata land instead of yours it's not up to you as to how or when a charger gets installed nearby.
People were also half the size they are today. Especially children.
Nah, they have federal flood insurance for that.
Yeah there's a reason a 2013 Leaf isn't worth anything.
We barely have cheese here.
