Rich people don't use the roads more than other people, and a Mercedes doesn't cause more wear and tear than an F-150. Roads should be funded with fuel taxes and vehicle fees, not income taxes.

Electricity is mostly sold by private companies. Where municipal power exists, it is not subsidized by tax dollars.

Language? WTF? English isn't provided by the government.

Given how Hamas has declared that every Israeli is either a current, past or future Soldier and so they are fair targets, it seems wrong to complain about Israel counting all Palestinian men as Hamas Terrorists.

The fact that Hamas lies does not make it ok for Israel to lie.

The two sides are not symmetrical.

at least Israel doesn't count all women and children as Hamas and torture them

Yes, at least they don't do that. But perhaps they should aspire to do more than that.

I wonder what the battery life of this thing is going to be in actual service.

Battery life for grid storage is good. They are in a temperature controlled environment and kept within charging specs.

Phone batteries die because people charge them to 100%, leave them on the seat of their car parked in the sun, and then drain them to 0%.

Also, the lifetime is calculated differently for grid storage. For a vehicle, the battery is based on retaining 80% of its range. But 80% or even 60% is acceptable for grid storage. So, old batteries can be kept in service much longer.

Demand for power goes from a baseload low at 3:30 AM to a peak at 6:30 PM that is 60% higher.

If your power is 100% gas, you need to size it for 160% of baseload.

But if you have a battery bank, you can size it for about 125% of the baseload. Then use the surplus power to charge the batteries at night, and use the batteries to boost peak supply to 160% at 6:30 PM.

The battery banks obviously don't generate energy. They are used to match supply to demand.

Battery banks are especially useful with intermittent renewables. Solar power is only available during the day, and the sun is low during the 6:30 PM peak.

NASA considered it but decided the damage to Columbia wasn't so bad and didn't want to cancel Atlantis's scheduled mission.

I've had my iPhone for six years and have no plans to replace it. It has 80% of its original battery capacity, which is good enough to get me through the day.

When people replace phones, the old phones are often sent to developing countries, where they are refurbed and reused. So a longer battery life means that the batteries will be used for a long time by someone even if it isn't you.

But the big win is for EVs. People often keep cars for 20 years or more, and the other parts on an EV wear much less than an ICE, so the battery is the weak link.

Disclaimer: I've had my EV for nine years.

Nope. The robots will be replicated if they accomplish their mission, not for mere survival.

Compare kamikaze pilots to cruise missiles:

Kamikaze pilot X is a hero. He completes his mission and dies. Kamikaze pilot Y is a coward. He chickens out and runs away before his turn to fly.

Result: X is a genetic dead end, while Y goes on to have children and grandchildren.

Cruise missile X launches and destroys its target. Cruise missile Y malfunctions and fails to launch.

Result: More model X missiles are manufactured, while model Y is discontinued.

The evolutionary pressure on missiles is completely different and opposite of the evolutionary pressure on humans.

Ukraine is losing the EW battle, but that is partly because NATO is holding back on giving Ukraine the good stuff.

This is short-sighted (as is much of NATO's Ukraine policy), but the rationale is that we want to keep the good stuff for a potential conflict with China.
