Any DRM that isn't user friendly is the problem. This aptly demonstrates which companies are more concerned about their bottom line than they are about the quality of their wares, and any software where quality comes second, is software to avoid.

With population growth and security issues... privacy will someday be a thing of the past, and the concept of 'hiding' things will be taboo. For those who would defend privacy to the death, what do you have to hide?

No matter how creative a person is, they are simply building upon the work of others either by influence, tools, inspiration, cooperation or downright theft. There is no such thing as a truly original work and if any artist would stop 'creating' because they were no longer remunerated for it, they DO NOT have their heart or mind in the right place. Like a lot of jobs these days, artists do not produce anything that is absolutely necessary to life, and while I most certainly believe that very talented artists should gain recognition, I do not think that money is the only/best form of recognition. I am an artist and I create because I love, not because I want money. I find it extremely self-centered of people to claim "this is mine, you have to PAY to experience it", when the cost of sharing the material is insignificant. Any real artist would simply love to have their work appreciated.

They either need to disappear or become MUCH less onerous. The digital age has redefined markets and manufacturing of digital goods; it no longer makes sense to consider digital copying as theft.

What does it matter if it's a drone? What's the difference between a drone and a regular fighter jet? Or missiles launched from ships? You're all acting like there's some new element in all this, but there isn't, it's still the American armed forces taking out targets. This has been going on for a very very long time...

privacy = dishonesty That isn't to say that all dishonesty is necessarily negative, but I challenge anyone to think of a single instance of "privacy" that isn't also "dishonest" if you assume that withholding the truth is also being dishonest. Sure, there are plenty of things that are none of anybody's business, but the indisputable fact is that we can't know what isn't anybody else's business, unless we know what it is first. I for one welcome our future computerized overlord that will decide what is and what isn't anybody's business without humans having to get involved. After all, those automatic toilet flushing devices have been watching you go for years now! What was this about? Privacy on Facebook? Who the hell publishes something on a public site design for sharing information and expects that information not to be shared. It's like people eat like pigs, never exercise and cry about being fat and out of shape. STFU.
