Comment Re:Who is choosing Azure...by free will? (Score 1) 52

I am being kind of forced to train in AWS and I do not like it compared to Azure. It is expensive and overly complex while Azure is gaining AI and will soon be integrated with ChatGPT and CoPilot. Azure is ahead in many areas compared to AWS and it integrates well with the Microsoft Ecosystem.

For most games, yeah. However, I actually enjoy watching long-form "no commentary" playthroughs of games that have strong stories. With the modern graphics we're seeing now, it becomes very cinematic.

But I definitely don't want to listen to some dipshit ranting while waving a controller.

Lol. Not where I am at. We all use Python and node.js with a touch of typescript for our whole product stack across our AWS and Azure environment and have never seen scalability problems. I have not seen java servlets in a long time. They are quite niche like php these days.

Sounds like you need more senior level developers

I use uBlock Origin, and I haven't seen any new behavior yet.

I use uBlock Origin (and ScriptSafe, and other layers of tools), and I'm getting a mixed bag. Ad audio plays, but the ad video is black, and only at the start of a video, with no interruptions while watching. I'm sure I can update/kick uBlock to fix that if I want, but it's the least annoying YouTube ad behaviour I've experienced, so I'm not in a rush to discourage it.

Young layabouts prefer FREE over PAID!!

You're assuming teens are sticking to the free tiers of YT. You're also assuming teens are paying for Netflix (rather than riding their parents account). The survey didn't ask anything about the financial angle, so it's a bit of a jump to draw that conclusion.

It's just as likely that teens simply prefer a less curated experience than Netflix.

That's where climate change will make a dent. The EU has a lot of legally-protected brands/styles (beers, cheese, wine, etc, etc) which are tied the climatology of a limited geographic range, and climate change is going to move those areas (and possibly make the style irreproducible through traditional methods).

Which sucks, but it's arguably one of the less troublesome aspects of climate change. Unless you're a producer of one of those protected products.

what's with preferring trucks over vans in America

Towing capacity, off-road capabilities, and easier maintenance would be the big ones. In North America trucks have vans beat on those categories hands down. And that's not even getting into the cab-chassis options.

Don't get me wrong, vans are awesome and not that unpopular (I have a full-size van, my farmer neighbour has one, and my contractor neighbour runs an EV van), but you have to live with some limitations.

I am furious my team forced us to come back in and screwed me. They all own homes and now I have to rent as I no longer qualify so they can look cool to management by sitting at that seat at 7am
