I'm guessing that you've never been around one of the big 3 building out a manufacturing plant. There isn't much difference.

Likewise, clean rooms and the tech for the chips is nothing new in the US. This is the Taiwanese company playing to their base and basically using the stereotypical "lazy fat stupid American worker" meme to push back their plans.

The companies that build the equipment send installation engineers to help with that sort of thing, and trust me the United States has many, many, many people qualified to work with clean room environments. In fact, they have entire companies devoted to it.

TMSC is just fucking with them and using Americans as the blame target.

You aren't kidding about the censorship. I've noticed increasingly that if you type a word google doesn't like (even a legitimate word or phrase in your search) it refuses to give suggestions at all. And when you press enter, you get a very curated internet - you can compare it to other search engines and the content google is returning it heavily redacted.

I wonder how many people realize they are only seeing a part of the internet. The part their corporate overlords agree with.

This is the same company that took it upon themselves to copy a well known hobbyist speed controller for robotics competition.

Literally copied it down to the transistor, including silicon errors that had been made in the design. Then they copied the software (which had been open before that) line for line, including comments and even left the previous companies name in the comments!

Then they marketed it and sold it undercutting the hobbyist company.

The big 3 are building large facilities to build EV's and batteries. Unfortunately, that isn't 'new' volume. It's replacement volume that takes the place of units that are in manufacturing facilities right now.

For instance, at the end of last year, Ford idled the Romeo Engine Plant in Romeo Engine, who used to produce the 6.2L engine, the 3.5L engine, the 5.4L supercharged GT500 engine, and others. Transmission plants and other powertrain plants will be going through similar idling as the volume shifts to EVs.

But hey, let's keep up with the 'chatGPT is ending the world!' hysteria. Cause it gets clicks. AmIRite?

I'm guessing you don't deal with India on a regular basis. I have the unfortunate neccessity to do so. They will actively work to undercut other people to gain an advantage. There is very little 'teamwork' - they will agree to your face but then work behind your back at every opportunity.

Yes, this is in business. I've watched them repeatedly use their cheap labor to take work, do it horribly, wrongly, completely wrong, but cheaper and they know how to sell it. I'm dealing with it now on a number of projects. They are like teflon - they can do things completely incorrectly but still get congratulated for it.

I admit it, I have issues with India. Their still existent caste system, to their pollution to their overpopulation, to their corrupt government practices, to their collaboration with Russia.
