If you want to do a self build with a decent quality case then there's likely to be far less price difference. If you want something stylish AND good quality, self built, then forget it.

That sounds like a challenge to me sir.
Here's a $750 build that should outperform the linked iMac. It has an expensive white case, and a nicer screen than I've ever seen on a mac.

BTW - The actual definition of fascism isn't someone that's conservative or someone you don't like -- It's an economic model where traditionally state-run institutions are owned by private interests.

There's a lot more to fascism than that, maybe you're thinking of privatization. Here's an excerpt:

Fascism is a form of far-right, authoritarian ultranationalism characterized by dictatorial power, forcible suppression of opposition and strong regimentation of society and of the economy

Is it interesting to anyone else that most benchmarks pit the M1 mac against other macbooks?
Every mac I've used has had awful thermals, because heat sinks are big and fans are loud, and Apple hates big and loud. Instead, we get small and quiet, with a dollop of thermal throttling.
So yes, Intel's new chip when properly cooled beats the M1. Who is even surprised by this? My 4 year old desktop beats the M1 in everything but single core performance.

On a surface level eugenics seems sensible right? You can breed out negative traits and enhance the positive ones.
But which traits are negative and which are positive? Breed out sickle cell anemia and you breed out malaria immunity. Breed out autism and lose some potentially great analytical minds.

Worse than that, who gets to decide which people get to breed and which people get sterilized? Is it you? Is it me? The government?

OP already answered that, but I'll rephrase.

JRE was widely available and free for download with any good podcast app, or via youtube. Presumably it would have kept going like this without Spotify's help. Instead they bought it out. now we have to use the (Closed source) spotify app, watch their ads, and pay their subscription fees, and the show is worse off with big corporate ads and censorship.

Arrested Development on the other hand was never freely available. (Other than over broadcast TV.) it was out of production, and before Netflix bought it, we weren't expecting another season. Now we get an unexpected new season of a good show, with no ads. Still on a closed source player, but it sorta always was on one.
