i think that this is an ever evolving space, and this crypto winter will last a few years, as things are torn down and rebuilt again, with better foundations. this company is just one example of many. people mine bitcoin from excess solar energy and tons of other examples.

people are finding their way, chaos is at work and the market will find a balance. the path there will be volatile as change occurs, but every point of volataility strengthens an anti fragile system.

if you hate bitcoin its because you think its not just indifferent but actively malevolent, and with this i would strongly disagree. most people are convinced bitcoins proof of work is the source of its malevolence, but this is pure FUD. bitcoin uses energy to secure itself. any use of fossil fuels to that end is the cause of bad regulatory regimes which make fossil fuels cheaper than they should be. bitcoin exposes this and incentivizes a regulatory correction. moreover, bitcoin again offers a revenue source for off peak or low value energy sources that are valuable for energy production for human uses, but benefit from a source of revenue to pay for off peak or low value power.

bitcoin miners dont mine unless its cost effective to do so. if they are exploiting a loophole, the loophole should be plugged. proof of stake is always going to be bad because it leads to regulatory capture of the units of value. bitcoin is censorship resistant because of proof of work. proof of stake puts the power in the hands of the regulators.

the only reason to have this view is if you feel like regulatory capture and censorship is a REQUIRED FEATURE of a globally relevant currency and store of value. if someone holds this view, its obviously wrong.

why do you consider it wishful thinking? im confused about why a person would wish for ultimate failure of a free independant store of value currency. maybe you're talking only about all of the altcoins, and the ecosystem around them that has been bad. i hope you are not including bitcoin in your wishful thinking. bitcoin is an asset that offers significant value as a globally transferrable digital asset, when married with lightning network it scales past visa's transaction capabilities and speed. there has been a period where people used other cryptocurrencies to hype, many of them have been securities and scams, but bitcoin remains unique as a system where there was no premine and the founder has stepped away. bitcoin's founding cannot be repeated, its fair launch cant be repeated and continued adoption can be set by market rates. moreover, bitcoins proof of work serves to fuel revenue towards lower priced sources like renewables which often generate power when it isn't needed.

I had read that Rogozin is being made Russia's administrator of the Russian occupied territories of Ukraine, so i don't think he's been ousted from much. maybe he's been put in a more troublesome permission because with any luck there will not be permanently occupied territories.

i guess what im saying is this news isnt exactly a celebration and the article makes it look like he's being ousted because of his bombast, when infact he's being moved and in some ways promoted to a more front line permission in russia's efforts against ukraine.

that said, rogozin may have to move offices to Mariupol, so putting him literally near the front lines, some may consider a russian disposal technique for people they want to get rid of/put in risk.

we'll see. he's a true bastard though.

this aligns with microsofts business interests. Satya has microsoft 100% laser focused on cloud use consumption and azure consumption. they only care about driving consumption of office 365 and azure and other associated services. right to repair in their hardware stack will make devices cheaper/easier to maintain and easier to stay integrated/grow their cloud engagement. so right to repair will be embraced at microsoft without a doubt.
