I'm not sure where you've been for the past 150 years but photography is not new.
Who do you think has to prove innocence when the likeness of a man with no twins is caught on film shooting someone? I'd say a photograph is very compelling evidence and I'm pretty sure the courts agree, but, IANAL.
As someone who has almost been run over by morons failing to stop at a stop sign and red light I endorse red-light and stop sign cameras. I say put the cameras at every intersection and raise the penalty for not stopping at stop signs or red lights.
The photograph IS the proof.
So, how do you move backward in the browser window history? *lots of mouse stuff*
I use z to navigate backwards and x to move forwards. Opera has had these keymappings available for years and I can't begin to imagine how much strain on my wrists they have saved. Hands are usually on the keyboard anyways, why not use them?
So what, exactly is the problem? The speed limit is posted so there really isn't an excuse to ignore it. Why is there an addiction to speed when driving slowly - at the posted rate - is safer? I'm also curious at how many people, when pulled over for speeding tell the cop, "You know what, Copper, you got me. I was breaking the law and I'll accept and pay the ticket." Do people actually own up to breaking the law accept the consequences?
(Probably not, it's easier to post on Slashdot!)
Neutrinos have bad breadth.
