In more expensive systems, GPS receiver part is separate from navigation system which generally more modular.

When one member country says they have warrants for joe smith, Interpol simply distributes the warrant and information to all other members nations. Interpol doesn't check the warrant or see why it's being issued, they just make a note in Joe Smith record and when it's pulled up by another country custom officers, they just see, so and so has warrant against them issued by another country and details of warrant. As long as hardware manf continue to put Google Services on their phones and not HORRIBLY screw up the experience, Google could care less about TouchWiz/Sense/Motoblur. They will start to care when users start to leave Android and point to poor user experience as reason for doing so. That doesn't appear to be happening looking at market share numbers.

It's actually been really simplified. Instant Messaging is handled by seperate product called Lync (If you are staying Microsoft). Exchange is simply Email/Calendar/Contacts/Notes/Tasks. Facebook intergration is Outlook driven and Exchange server doesn't do any of that for client.

Not to mention ActiveSync has basic security features like... remote wiping of devices and forcing passwords. By root you mean Administrator privileges and it's still not horribly uncommon that users have local Admin rights due to some old junk software they are trying to run that will only run with Admin privileges locally.

This article is light on details and doesn't give Admins alot to work with. Microsoft generally will release KB articles describing the exploit and workaround/prevention methods to prevent it.

If you are virtualizing Windows only, Hyper-V is probably the best bet. Completely supported by Microsoft for low low cost of nothing. Supports Live Migration, Dynamic Memory (servers only start with X but can request up to Y if needed) and has very usable GUI and yes, it's true HyperVisor just like ESXi or Xen.

When you want a computer you control, you run linux, when you want a computer that grandma can use, you give her a Mac and when you want retail system that checks people out, you run whatever OS that your POS maker asks you to.
