Comment Re:I'd love a FPS with relativistic effects. (Score 2) 113

Yeah, that would be great.

First time through, I was disappointed that I couldn't see objects that were behind me appearing in front of me when traveling quickly, but maybe I'm missing something about how light aberration works with other relativistic effects?

Before I read the description after the "game" is over, I was confused about why behind me didn't turn black any more when I got that last orb. That's a dramatic modification, maybe there should be an in-game message about the change.

Also I still don't quite get why certain things were still visible in the blackness behind me while looking backwards -- is that infrared traveling faster than visible light?

Huh, Slackware was the first Linux disto I managed to successfully install, and it's still the one I turn to for Linux.

What? Lifting this ridiculous ban would not mean people could talk on their cell phones for an entire flight.

And, to the author of TFA: No. If you enjoy the solitude provided by people of questionable authority telling you that you can't do perfectly safe things because of some handwaving, there are lots of religions you can join.

QI is in both big English language Scrabble dictionarie (one's used in American competition plus some random place, the other used everywhere else), along with the *three* alternate spellings: CHI, KI, KHI

Really, though, if we want to talk about strange foreign words that are in our Scrabble dictionaries, we need to start talking about XU and HAO and ZAIRE and whatnot.
