And my point is maybe if Putin hadn't taken Crimea in 2014 and not been so paranoid about NATO we wouldn't have much an interest in the whole thing. Now that he has invaded a sovereign, non-NATO country, he has NATO's full attention. Not really very bright in my opinion.

You've got to be kidding. No one in the west was looking for this war, we had our own problems until Putin decided to pile on. A lot of Russians weren't looking for this war. Whether or not Western "propaganda" is a factor (and question exactly how much "propaganda" we are being exposed to) this is Putin's war alone.

The Soviet Union under Stalin was a far different animal from today's Russian Federation. Stalin mowed down entire cities when crossed. He was the absolute dictator of all the Russias, including Ukraine. It took time for training, equipment, etc, but the Soviet Army eventually outnumbered the Wehrmacht over 3 to 1. The Red Army defeated the Nazis with sheer numbers. Not happening today. The Federation can probably muster the numbers it needs to overtake Ukraine but not with that ratio. Also the support is starting wane for this nonsense Putin has started. No one was looking for this war, including a lot of Russians. In any case the main point of the article is how technology has overtaken the tank,and is something I have been thinking about for quite some time. I also include the manned fighter/bomber/etc aircraft. There's really no need for any combat aircraft to be manned these days.

There's something to be said about being a propaganda megaphone though. Although he and his wife cowardly murdered his own children and themselves while the Soviet army was knocking on the door Goebbels would surely have been put on trial at Nuremberg. The Krupp family? Not so much.

You're mostly likely right, c2c does pay significantly more I think, but there's overhead you have to cover, 1) tax accountant, if you go c2c and not using an accountant you're insane, 2) you can wait up to 6 months to get paid, and 3) YOU get to get your own health insurance, and the insurers have NO INTEREST in dealing with sole proprietors. Its really more nonsense than I care to deal with.

Same here. I think its "clever", others think its too obscure. I think they're just dumbshits, but Its probably more like I'm less clever than I think I am. Its a cross I bear.

The foreign born agents are the worst. They are nothing but annoying, incessantly asking for my visa status... promising to submit me or let me know either way and then never hearing from them again. 30 calls a day or more. After a few years of this I kind of stopped caring how I sounded to them. My gf listened to one phone call and was horrified how I treated them verbally. But seriously, after 10 years of nonsense and wasted time with them, I really stopped caring. Now they only agents I pay any attention to are the ones with plainly American accents.
