I loved the books when I was young. They seem omnipotent but they really weren't.

IIRC, Corwin tried to usurp the throne from his brother Random, and as a punishment had his eyes burned out. Nobody expected he'd regenerate his eyesight, but it did, during years of imprisonment.

Also, what I liked is that they'd all have their own particular skill. Although Corwin handled a sword really well, he could never win against his brother Gérard. He could cast a spell but never as good as his sister Fiona.

There's multiple interesting threads going on. Their power comes from the Pattern (i.e. order), but there's also the Locus (i.e. chaos). There's a court of Amber, but also a court of Chaos. Then there's a whole bunch of family members, who Corwin knows or doesn't know.

However, I don't blame you for finding it a bit boring. We all have particular books and TV series which didn't "click" with us. I mean I found Lord of the Rings entertaining overall, but the writing style extremely long-winded.

Or just have paintings or realistically drawn portraits. I'm a freelancer and need to have a somewhat public presence because I have to whore around, so on my LinkedIn profile, I have a nicely drawn portrait.

Really? What I found out, is that there are different levels of pinlock. Sales people don't tell you that, perhaps even they don't know. There's 30, 70 and 120. I unknowingly bought a 70 for some reason. Perhaps you have a 30?

I've got pinlock for my motorcycle visor, and it works great. For those not in the know, it's a plastic sheet that you stick on the visor inside your helmet. It's lined with silicon channels, so there's trapped air and that's an insulator, so it doesn't fog.

Works great except when you wear glasses, because then these still fog up.. so I want this gold nano-coating on my glasses.

It doesn't just save you the step of swiping a keycard, it also makes something wireless (NFC) into something wired. In my country, The Netherlands, there's a charging network that also lets you just plug in (Fastned). Combined with the fact that they virtually always have 4-8 level 1 chargers, not just one or two, my navigation almost always follows their charging network.

I remember listening to Zac Price (CEO of BlockFI) on the Animal Spirits podcast. It's a pretty well-known podcast and they asked him about what was going on back then, which was in July this year. Zac Prince said that although media said BlockFi was "rescued", he entertained several options from several organizations. And that FTX gave the best offer. Prince definitely did not come across as a YOLO-ing frat-fucking crypto-bro.

Turns out that going with FTX really was the fatal mistake here. I think it's a shame that BlockFi is in so much trouble.

But that's a very good point, actually. My Dutch city has a whole bunch of canals. If you own an electrically-powered boat, it costs 100 euros per year in taxes. A gasoline-powered boat costs 400, and every year, that tax is raised by 100 euros.

Interesting, so it seems it's leasing, but more flexible. Doesn't seem like a bad deal to me, but if they don't do anything extra (like providing a charging facility), then they're just a more flexible leasing company.

I don't know what kind of cars will be accessible by customers, but here in The Netherlands, prices are much more affordable.

I can drive the following cars: Renault Zoe ZE50, Tesla Model 3, Hyundai Kona and Hyundai IONIQ 5. Subscription is US$ 170 per month for having a car 2 days a week, plus 22-26 cents per kilometer (35-41 cents per mile). On average, this means I pay about 325 per month.

Does that startup grant you much more days per month? Or does it come with miles included?

Well, there's the design. I can see people really liking the design with the integrated LED strips. Although for some people that may be superficial, for others that kind of stuff does make a difference in the buying decision. It's not my cup of tea, I'd be more interested if the phone was degoogled in some way, offering more privacy.

My question would be whether making these twisted 4/5 layers of graphene does something useful besides the superconducting.

Does anyone know whether this can be made up by connecting a USB-C dock, and if so, will the USB-C dock be able to power the laptop as well?

Because in that case, I can forgive a lot of shortcomings related to laptop ports. I've used a MacBook and for years, just plunked down the laptop and hooked it up with a single Thunderbolt 3 cable to a dock. The dock supplied power, network, display, printer, mouse, keyboard and even speakers.

When you say that, you really need to tell us which monitor size you use, and at what distance you're sitting from it.

I'm sitting pretty close to a 32" 4K monitor and I'm 40-ish, and I feel it's much better than the full HD I first had.
