Many people with security clearances at national laboratories that work on highly classified projects work from home for 2-3 days per week.
Those CEOs knew this years ago. Many of them frequently worked from home long before the rest of us. Many of the companies those same CEOs run have large investments in offices on their balance sheets that they would prefer not to write off as stranded assets with no value.
The only change here is a CEO saying out loud the thing that everyone already knew.

This is California, not Florida. Much of California is cool in the evenings and night so little demand for A/C while the EVs are mostly charged at night.
When I was in California, our top rate on an EV plan (varies time-of-use, but not tiered by amount used) was just under 60 cents per kWh. We had solar panels, so, mostly, the power company was paying me that rate rather than me paying that rate to the power company.

Do you not understand latitude and its effect on the length of the day? The average length of a day in the UK is very likely the same as where you live. In summer, days are very long in comparison to anywhere in the lower 49.
I had it in my mind that the next general election was required to be held in 2024, but since that is wrong, let me adjust my percentages:
1. There is a zero percentage chance of a new government this year.
2. There is a 99% chance of a new government early next year.

You have misunderstood the article.
What it is saying is that 60% (3 times 20%) of the electricity consumed in the UK could be produced by solar farms and onshore wind.
Just in case you are skeptical: Annual electricity demand in the UK was 310TWh in 2023 while this proposal is that onshore wind could produce 95TWh and solar 130TWh (from the article).
What's missing: Offshore wind and rooftop solar.

When I walk into my doctor's office for a 3:00 appointment, my appointment actually starts at 3:00, not 5:30.
Where is this magical medical center? My experience of doctors in several states, going back decades is that, if you have an appointment at 3:00, the one thing you know is that it isn't going to start at 3:00.
I have experienced both healthcare in the US and the UK's NHS. The differences are that:
1. The US healthcare is expensive.
2. The US healthcare is delivered in locations with nicer furnishing.
3. You are much more likely to get unnecessary and expensive health services in the US.
