What about a Pony express rider carrying 40 or so terabyte bit sticks? Each one would be equivalent to about 8 x 10^6 Mb so even if it took the rider a week to get from one place to another I think it'd provide a data rate of ca 500Mb/s (happy to have my sums corrected).

In the UK we don't really do earthquakes and tsunamis so I suppose our stress-tests will feature vibrations caused by loud music from the neighbours (because we certainly won't ask them to turn it down, v unBritish) and predictable rain on the first day of a test-match.
