This is the company that REMOVES options in each and every release! If the option can be done through obscure registry settings, then Microsoft also gets rid of those if they notice anyone using them.

Perhaps this was one of the "Oops, pissed off one of our biggest corporate customers with our shenanigans. Push out something to make them happy and make it sound like it's good for everyone. Oh, and don't spend too much time on it making sure it's free of security issues; there's plenty of forced-update action to get around those in the longer term. Release to press now!"

To me what's missing is the population of drives still in operation from before 2015. Sure you could argue that cramming 2 to 4 times the storage capacity in the same form factor may lead to reliability issues down the road but are we talking about consumer or data center grade drives as well? Of the drives that showed failures how many more are still working or have they been retired?

This sounds more like a whitepaper about "new drives are bad, use us if you don't have a backup strategy or don't know what RAID or JOBD is."

Shh!!! You're not supposed to break the fun of analytic arguments by pointing out that the source of info is probably a suggestive sales vector. Where's the fun in arguing that? ;)

Actually, it should read, "If your failed HDD is less than three years old, then it probably failed in its first three years."

Wha? I was too busy Facebook-planted in my mobile to understand what you said. Three years is a time for my smart phone to fail? What? My pictures are on the cloud so the hard drive in my phone is more than cloud years young. If I spent less time on Face....... *stares back at phone*

That's my point. Who's to know what is and isn't legal/what/relevant/etc? You can be committing a crime while doing something completely normal and every-day, based on where you are and under what context.

So is he trying to prove his own BS or making a mockery of America (er, free countries in general) by suing for frivolous and absolutely pointless and self-destructive reasons (but not enough to hurt)? Real question here!

I disagree, because the OP's phrase "his Nazi association", which to most people would imply he was a member of the Nazi party, not that some Nazis liked him and therefore some might say he's kinda sorta "associated" with the Nazis. Associated is too strong a word, and even if it wasn't, in context it's being used in a phrase most commonly associated with claiming someone is a member of a group.

I associate with associations of associates. Wrap your mind around that one. /head explosion gesture...and a grin

Maybe that's the new thing to do. Come up with a butt load of cash to pay for rights, and make a new show out of an old one. Give it a new image and a very similar name. That sounds like a really hip idea! Screw originality. Requires too much brain wattage.
