Corporate policy is probably to push items that are about to expire first. They would directly lose money on expired items otherwise. It also tells me that they overstock too many items if the expiration date is too short, that whole logistics thing. Workers are just doing what they are being told to do, I would be surprised if they are that malicious or incompetent.

You are right though, who is going to want to buy week old bread online?

You listed studies about these dangers, but somehow they are all from China, with only Chinese contributors with no details on their results. If the information is not that common and your struggling to find something on the dangers of 5G usage, I find it unlikely that Mills Valley has some secret knowledge that they are objecting to the installation of the towers. It is more likely it is just NIMBY's attitude which shows up a lot in wealthy neighborhoods and towns when they can get away with it.

So you linked to a bunch of articles from purely China authors in Beijing. While I see a lot of quotes about dangers, I guess if I stick my head in a microwave for 20 or 30 minutes at a time I can understand having some DNA damage. What I don't see is is any explanation of why a microwave sitting my kitchen is danger.

Might as well be links to the dangers of Di-hydrogen Oxide and all the nasty effects it has.

I used to do Perl programming, I had to move from Pittsburgh to Tucson, AZ because there were no Perl positions in Pittsburgh and had to move half-way across the country because they could find no one locally for the position. If you are Shenzhen, there are thousand chip programmers because there are literally a thousand companies with those sorts of jobs, of course there is no problem with finding someone there!

I can imagine most people would not know what a "pick and place machine" is. Why would people apply for a job just because a company is offering a salary? Most companies don't respond to most job applications and why waste time for applying for positions they barely know anything about? Where is the responsibility of the company to train and educate people they wish to employ?

Lets be honest, Microsoft has gone past peak. They have been desperately looking for a new business model and this is just another attempt to look at another money stream.

I guarantee that if this works to any degree, all versions of Windows will follow this model in the future, with shorter and shorter timelines. I guess I have been lucky to not really have problems with Windows, on the other hand I always turned off their auto-updates. If Microsoft convinces people to migrate to the cloud (for Office products) I have a hard time imagining that the Windows desktop will not be replaced with Linux at some point. That was always their biggest tie-in, once you lose that why not look at alternatives?

BMW says they are selling a new car, basically 6 to 9 months from now, big deal. Tesla always had competition, but never really good competition. The two I think of off the top of my head are the Leaf and the Volt. I know there is more but I am too lazy to list all of them. It is enough to say that right now, it is not a one company market and right now Tesla is controlling it.

Mercedes all said they are just getting start and aren't dedicating a factory because they don't want to over-commit to the market. They are procrastinating other manufacturers and let Tesla own a large market. If they were confident they could sell a large number of their cars they would be preparing long term instead of basically doing a limited production line.

When Tesla is able to actually meet market demand (they don't need a reservation list) what do you think people are going to buy Mercedes or Tesla? That will be interesting but it will be at least another 2 or 3 years before that happens.
