A few states straight out make illegal to use anything that distracts your attention while driving. By distract they mean anything that diverts attention from driving. Don't think anyone will make the case these don't do that.
A major of states ban screens showing movies and tv but don't mention streaming, from the driver viewing area. So not illegal here.
Then massachusetts allows you to use any device provided it is hands free and you cannot be holding it in your hands. You can also use a headphone in one ear. So yea this device is allowed while driving provided you are over age 18, because under that no electronic devices are allowed.

It could be the percent of people who drop their subscription who get this deal vs those that don't. However that does not make sense because if you pre-signed up for the no-ad subscription then you are not likely to be dropping.

I had a rental car in germany that had that. also had a minimum speed limiter, so you could not go below the minimum speed.
It was actually rather nice when driving some of the smaller street that passed though villages. the only problem in lots of places the GPS location of different speeds did not correspond the road signs.
Of course it was optional and could be turned off/on with the cruise control; not like here with what these democrats are proposing.

This subsidy was studied by the GAO and found to be a source of massive waste, and abuse of both what it was suppose to do and the funds it was spending. They were suppose to be fixing that but the FCC has kept delaying or not doing it.
The person who is looking into this waste, and was not even quoted just has stuff taken out of context has been looking into the various programs that do funding, there are 15 separate agencies who have more than 130 separate programs for funding broadband, so the people under this would be covered by better managed programs.
This is the FCC upset because they would be missing out on money they are not using properly.
