Way back (in the day) in jr High School I took a COBOL summer college course, East Stroudsburg

and at the time someone had calculated the largest known prime number .. this in the late 1970's,
was something like P = 2^X-1 where X was in the 100's, perhaps more.

COBOL allows the programmer to create any size number variable, 100's of digits not a problem,
so I estimated needed size Log base 10 of P, ... and looping, "multiply by" 2, then "subtract" 1
then printed the result, a paragraph of digits.

Each computer langage has it's strengths. COBOL is tediously boring and long winded, but to this
day - given that problem again - I'd use it.
