I've come to a similar conclusion. Invested in a 4k BluRay player last month and started buying everything I know I'll want to watch again. I suppose I should do the same with CDs, but cars without CD players means I'd have to digitize them anyhow. Books I'm less concerned with. Other than the Bible, how many am I going to read again? Few. Reference books become outdated (remember those annual updates for encyclopedia?), other books I've read once and I'm done. With a few exceptions, very few.

We've already seen a return of the Automat model in food service, and who hasn't walked into a McDonalds with no cashiers and only kiosks by now. Where there is a lack of inexpensive labor, technology is there to solve the issue. AI is arguably terrible now, but it won't always be. Even now, there are ways to leverage AI in workflows - as long as you have a human to review the work - that can save a lot of time.

Funny thing, I was watching an old Computer Chronicles episode about modems and BBSs. The issue was exactly the same then. They discussed people âoehiding behind keyboardsâ. I recall those days, although I wasnâ(TM)t connecting to BBSâ(TM)s until a few years after. It wasnâ(TM)t great then, and not only has it gotten worse but it has now spilled into real life.

I first heard the word spoken when I was in middle school. A teacher used it as an example topic we could choose for an essay assignment. I remember wondering, what was the issues with Asian kids? I didnâ(TM)t find out what the actual word was for quite some time after. Now, 40 years later, I still laugh when I think about how uninformed I was.
