Here's one:

And a lot of them will conveniently fit in most pockets.

I don't know what connector you've got out there connecting to those spontaneously evolved solar cells, but I'm sure there's a solution and that you're not the first person to have this issue since people have been standardizing on USB-C power delivery for a number of years now. I dunno, I'm pretty sure we have the same Google that can help turn this mountain you're making out of this molehill back into a molehill, or maybe even flat ground again.

if you're in a remote location where you need an embedded controller for something and the power source is 12V, as it will invariably be, how are you going to turn that into USB-C PD?

I would imagine one would do it the same way they got al the other equipment out to that "remote location." You go to a store beforehand, buy a few of what you need, put them in a bag or your pocket, and carry them out there. Maybe if you're really connected, you can call some local resources to airdrop them for you, or arrange for a drone delivery. But very rarely in my life have I wound up in a remote location without knowing in advance it was going to happen. I mean, it's not like the 12V power source you already have out there just grew out of some local rocks.

Have you tried Blue SCSI?

I know there's a lot of retro computing folks out there making adapters for this sort of thing. I think there might be a signal compatibility issue with NVME stuff and SCSI (different protocols, etc.). There's a ton of IDE to SSD and NVME stuff. But very little SCSI. I thought I had seen something that worked like you're looking for, but it may have only been the Blue SCSI adapter. My entry point through YouTube is Action Retro, but you might have better luck with a different channel.

Simple.

Now that word that you can make money on Twitter is out, people are gonna flood the blue checks. Then the activity's going to explode. Then Twitter's going to take those numbers to the advertisers and a) tell them it's safe and b) hike rates, because traffic is high.

And there you go. Of course, we won't talk about how all of this is going to pervert the quality of content on the site. But that's a conversation for a future day.

Well it means that AMD makes a line of processors that beat the M1/M2 processors in every way including price.

Well, not every way. AMD mobile CPUs, like Intel mobile CPUS cut their speed in half when removed from external power. And the battery life while disconnected doesn't compare either.

That's part of the appeal of using Apple hardware. If you can run Linux on a machine that will give you full CPU power even when mobile, and with long battery life. And the GPU isn't too bad either.

Sure, they may beat or haul the M1/M2 "in every way" when plugged into the wall except for overall power consumption, but what's the point of having a laptop if you can only use it for an hour or so before you need to tether it to an outlet again?

As for desktop M1/M2s, not everyone can afford to have multiple machines. And there are programs on the Mac that run really well.

Sure. But 10gbps service also has the advantage of pushing the network bottleneck all the way to the consumer's equipment. So accessing it becomes their problem, not the ISPs.

And sure, no one can access 10Gbps today. But give it a few years. We've already seen dramatic increases in speed and capacity demands in the last five or ten years or so. I would expect the next few are going to be the same way.
