I agree with this point of view. Right now the companies have their cake and are consuming same because of section 230 and the courts mis-reading of it. What it SAYS is that if a company editorializes - they lose protection and may be sued - but the courts aren't recognizing that the "Editing" action referred to in the article is JUST THAT. If section 230 was upheld as written - likely this would be less of a problem because the companies would have lost protection and could be sued. Moving the companies to public utility status would have the effect the law in Texas was after - remove the ability of the companies to editorialize in a manner similar to the fact that the phone company can't modify your conversations on their lines.

So do away with the section 230 protection entirely and remove the ability for the companies to censor anyone. If anything illegal is going on - tell the cops.

Try to stick to facts next time. I see no evidence either way of Mayor Mei's point of view on Climate change. As for supporting President Trump - you have a 1 in 4 chance of that being correct as Fremont is 75% democrat to 25% republican registration. I have no idea what the Mayor's party affiliation is since the city mayor's position isn't a partisan position. So take your orange man bad BS some place else please.

Good theory - but it turns out that the agency that has to enforce this is Fremont PD. The mayor (who I have had the honor of meeting) sympathizes with Tesla and wants them open.

I can see it now - The cops show up in the Fremont PD Model S to arrest Elon... Hmmm... that ain't happening.

Well -consider that Tesla builds to order - they are building from a backlog with payments already MADE. So the cars are already sold. So the only question is - how will they be delivered. They have that figured out too. Another little note people forget. Tesla is now operating a plant in China - and has already gone through a successful re-opening of that plant. They have a clue about how to do this.
