Comment My Tinnitus (Score 4, Informative) 50

I’ve had tinnitus for 24years bilateral at 9kHz constant tone 24x7.
I can hold a hair dryer up to head and still hear it.

It’s similar to chronic pain and the body has a flight or fight reaction. CBT attempts to break the fight/flight relationship which usually takes many years.
Lots of snake oil treatments around.
https://generalfuzz.net/acrn/ Can give some temporary relief.
Tinnitustalk.com is also a good summary of treatments and research.

Comment Rife (Score 0) 37

This reminds me of the work of Rife.
He was a understudy of Carl Zeis of lens fame and supposedly made a microscope that used two UV light sources with non linear optics to ox aka like an RF mixer to resolve very fine details of cells.
He then invented a machine that used modulated radio waves to find the resonance point of cancer cells to mechanically destroy them.
Legend has it, the the medical establishment destroyed his equipment, research and work.
There was a professor in Western Australia that resurrected his work to great success, but again ignored by the medical establishment.

Comment Fire and Proxmox (Score 1) 196

We recently had a major fire that knocked out our server infrastructure.
Our SAN and NAS were replicated to another facility but not our servers.
We had recently changed from HyperV to Proxmox running around 45VMs over 3 servers.
We had proxmox rebuilt on emergency hardware within 24hrs.

Proxmox is open source, and has amazing backup infrastructure.
It’s been rock solid for us.
