An anonymous reader writes: Two scientists have rendered amazing pictures using datafiles from the human genome project. They assigned different colors to the DNA and rendered images showing interesting patterns and strange structures of our chromosomes. It might be a groundbreaking new idea for displaying and maybe better understanding our genes. Anyways, with it's fascinating pictures it is a beautiful mix of science and art.

An anonymous reader writes: VR-Zone has a very interesting article on Intel's discrete graphics plans. According to them, Intel's Visual Computing Group (VCG) gave an interesting overview of the discrete graphics plans this week. There seems to be a few interesting developments down the pipeline that could prove quite a challenge to NVIDIA and AMD in 2 years time. Their first flagship product for games and graphics intensive applications is likely to happen in late 2008-09 timeframe and the GPU is based on multi-core architecture. There could be as many as 16 graphics cores packed into a single die.

He will now be employed as a consultant by Benson Space Co., a Poway-based, California upstart founded by rocket entrepreneur Jim Benson. In exchange for serving as a "test passenger" on the company's first scheduled flight for paying customers, sometime in 2008, Emmett will provide feedback during the testing phase of the project.

Guidelines to Reduced Stress on Slashdot

1. If user #xxxxxxx calls you an idiot, don't curl into fetal position and suck your thumb. Be an adult and ignore the idiot, idiot!
