I mean, there has to be some savings, ecology-wise, in de-funding those actively exploding bombs.

I'm on the sidelines here, but I haven't seen a great deal of positive things said about the Window 11 update. Most of the news seems to be bad, and most of the good stuff seems to be trivial. Even the advertisement on Microsoft's webpage doesn't seem to point out any major advances (even though it is worded to imply there are).
What's the deal here? Is W11 really just a push for Microsoft Teams, along with a bid by MS to force their users into their cloud products?
Bitcoin is just going to keep growing and growing and growing.
Put all of your money in it!
All of you!
The frustrating part for me is that I got stuck with Android 12 after voluntarily hitting the upgrade button, and yet I have no way to roll back to 11 without completely wiping an rebuilding my phone in a very lengthy process and just generally wasting a ton of my time. Not that Android 12 doesn't plenty of my time, on a daily basis.
I wish there was some way to convince these companies to allow a downgrade period. I know that it's technically possible, because you could do so with the beta. Them not offering it to us in a general release is for what? Bragging rights for how many people have upgraded? I would think that would be secondary to bragging rights in user satisfaction.
It'd be cool to actually see all this happen.
Most people won't switch to W11 until MS end-of-lives W10 anyway.
Or 10k, using the corrected number.

5.25 inch?
Dare we even hope for the original 8 inch?
I'm not saying the technical points of this article aren't accurate, but boy was this a fan article. I mean, yeah, 7.4% of the market in Q2 of 2021 (per IDC) is a big bump up from, well, 7.6% of the market in Q2 of 2020.
No, wait...

Do you ever get the impression that Microsoft doesn't really plan ahead for their operating systems, but just sort of slaps together something whenever they feel like they need a new one?
I mean, Windows 10 came out 6 years ago, but when they released Windows 11, it really wasn't that different and a large portion of the features they touted hadn't even been finished yet.
The big question is, can you install Chrome OS on these new Windows 11 SE laptops?
Also, will there be a Windows 11 Student Edition Special Edition? (W11-SESE)
OMG! This is so exciting!
I can barely contain myself!
A new name!
Bought one the day it came out.
Sure, Apple has a more sustainable market these days. But when the M1 came out, they were benchmarking it against Intel Ice Lake mobile CPU, not the more recent Tiger Lake (which was already shipping, albeit in only a handful of laptops). Later it came out, in at least in one benchmark, that Tiger Lake was faster than the M1.
Seems like this is the case with the M1 Pro and Maxy. As already pointed out, just yesterday we on Slashdot were told that Intel's next chip, due in a month or two, will be faster than Apple's. But how much faster? I can't believe it's a big enough difference to generate all this discussion.
Perhaps the most important consideration is software. Not the OSX vs Windows debate, but the desktop-and-web-software-developers-will-bloat-to-the-edge-of-usablity factor, which means that we the end user, independent of platform, will see little of the advantage of these faster processors.
I suspect I'll be one of them...
