Avoid a bag of chips everyday, chocolate bars and soft drinks as much as possible.

Based on what evidence?

Here's an example, although extreme: https://www.npr.org/sections/t...

I'd like to add to the mix the controversy over eating eggs and associated cholesterol levels. And then the advent of different types of cholesterol, good and bad. We are still very much learning about our biology and dietary needs. More science should be devoted to what our bodies need and how our GI system works instead of how to create better junk foods.

All that said, I would tend to agree that eating more natural foods, less processed junk, and getting adequate exercise is probably better. Yay moderation!

Seems like this ruling would help provide precedent for states such as CA that wish to maintain their own regulations on emissions despite the federal government not wanting them to do such. As you and the OP wisely stated, this seems to have backfired on them at least in the NN fight.

I'd say the person owns the physical disc and the right to watch what is "pre-loaded" on the disc. They can even waive/make use of those rights and sell/give away/destroy the physical medium (which includes the right to view) if they want. But they do not own the IP, copyright, etc. of the disc contents.

I do think you have a point. The public will only pay so much. However, pirating wasn't the answer in my case.

I had cable TV, but cut it 10 years ago.
I had Netflix, but cut that 5 years ago.

If there is something I want, I buy it on disc, and pay for it once. I can watch it as many times as I want when I want. There's no fear it will be pulled from a streaming provider, or that I'll have to pay more $$/month later to watch the same damn show.

The only downsides are an electricity bill (counts as a subscription??), storage and care of said media, and having to wait longer for physical DVD/Blu-ray releases.

Let's just drop a giant ice cube in the ocean every so often, stick our heads back up our asses, and pretend that everything on the planet is OK!

Even if we prevent a global temperature rise by means other than reducing emissions, if we continue to live the way we have the air and water will still be polluted.

"What if you could work a bit closer to the root of the problem..."

How is reducing heat from the sun closer to the root of the problem? The sun is not the problem. The sun provides the Earth fscking life!!! It IS a solution through the use of solar energy. WE are the problem. WE pollute the earth. WE kill living things for selfish profit.

And what have we learned from previous endeavors when humans tried to change and control nature? We just had an article about genetically modified mosquitoes that shouldn't have been able to reproduce, but did. Now we don't know what effect that will have in the future. The same goes for trying to cause a global dust storm. How fscking bad do they want to kill more plant species? We already have issues feeding people, and this seems like it would only fsck our food supply and raise prices because yeild went down after they fscked our atmosphere with dust.

Indeed, some scammers are spoofing the Verizon customer service 800 number. I don't have that in my phone, so it just showed the number. They even left a generic voicemail claiming an account would be deactivated if I didn't do something or other. I googled the number after the attempted call. My account is fine, so I had a healthy skepticism, but if people have had run-ins with bills or fraud, they may be more apt to believe this scam and do what's requested.
