Your post history makes you an asshole. I don't forget all the users once I close my browser every day. You post all day, every day. You get a lot of thread views and mods. I already know the response of damned near every user on here. And your response is gonna be some libertarian boot strappy bullshit. Your OP is garbage data from the Union your grandpappy retired from. That's not how shit has worked since the 90s. Just because a gov worker gets better pay and insurance packages than someone working fast food, doesn't mean they have a CEO style paid-until-you-die pension. This isn't General Motors UAW shit from 1979. People with your attitude made sure of it.

They had to say it twice and the dumb bastards on this site still don't get it. There's comment after comment above you saying stupid shit like (paraphrased): if we take it out but then put it back, what's the point? The point is to be as close to net zero as possible. Maybe they should say 8 or 20 more times but if you can't get the lazy fucks to read it once, it's not gonna help I guess.

That's not its point. You assume and define things to your own liking. The point of the parking brake is to engage the brake while it is parked. It's in the name. They are not a failsafe at all. They used to be called emergency brakes but they had to change that because people heard stories from guys like you and watch BS in movies about stopping the car with it when the real brakes go out. The mechanism ratchets to lock it on. Some require the pedal to be ratcheted all the way to the floor as far as it will go to make it pop back up to the released position. In a panic situation, all that lead to was people jamming the thing to the floor, locking the wheels up and crashing in a less controlled manner than just gearing/coasting the thing down to a stop. Very few people have the skill during a panic to modulate the release pedal, lever, or thumb button to make a Fast and Furious quality drift. You may have practiced that driving maneuver, I certainly have, but since you're speaking as if you have some knowledge in the field, then you know the worst assumption you can make is to assume a human is going to do the right thing at the right time. As an automation engineer myself, I've automated my way out of things much more complicated, much more dangerous, and much more expensive than a parking brake on a car.

Dude, I had the misfortune of owning an authentic 1924 Model T. It was the most successful car of its time, mainly because it was the only car of its time. It was a royal piece of junk and I was happy to be rid of it. There are no EVs like Tesla. The fucking Prius was the top of its time when it came out. No one gives a shit about one now. I don't even own a Tesla and I can already tell you 3 or 4 things about it that are garbage just from looking at the one the guy at work has. Even with the issues, I'd still love to have the original Tesla/Lotus Roadster.

This is the problem with half assed automation. Tesla automated all kinds of shit that didn't need to be automated, but cheaped out on a $2 electric solenoid that could have auto engaged the parking brake when the car is in park and/or turned off. This applies to the rest of the dumbass argument you and RWNJ are having: If the car people really really wanted you to have that brake on, it would have been forced on years ago through either mechanical or electrical means. Where do you think that stupid button on the shifter to get it out of park came from? Cause they felt like spending more money on it? They rely on an automatic transmission TO BE IN PARK to keep it from rolling away. Period. End of story regardless of weasel words used in the fucking manual. Those engineers don't even write those manuals. That's someone versed in legalese's job to do.

And now I'm annoyed that you made my ass have to defend RWNJ because your argument style is "smug prick". I can't stand that asshole!
