There is not a single falsifiable concrete claim here and she has no opportunity to respond. It's equally likely that he is an asshole taking revenge for well deserved low performance ratings. I am not saying I have any evidence for that either and I did have a manager that perfectly fit this description. But the only fact I have so far is that he doxxed his manager, and that points towards asshole hypothesis. Of course, there could be multiple assholes in the story.

Her department nominally has a strategy, but I couldn't leak it if I wanted to; I literally could never figure out what any part of it meant, even after years of hearing her describe it. Her understanding of what her teams are doing is minimal at best; she frequently makes requests that are completely incoherent and inapplicable. She treats engineers as commodities in a way that is dehumanising, reassigning people against their will in ways that have no relationship to their skill set. She is completely unable to receive constructive feedback (as in, she literally doesn't even acknowledge it). I hear other teams (who have leaders more politically savvy than I) have learned how to "handle" her to keep her off their backs, feeding her just the right information at the right time.

Meta's New Rule: If Your Political Ad Uses AI Trickery, You Must Confess (techxplore.com) 110

Press2ToContinue writes: Starting next year, Meta will play the role of a strict schoolteacher for political ads, making them fess up if they've used AI to tweak images or sounds. This new 'honesty policy' will kick in worldwide on Facebook and Instagram, aiming to prevent voters from being duped by digitally doctored candidates or made-up events. Meanwhile, Microsoft is jumping on the integrity bandwagon, rolling out anti-tampering tech and a support squad to shield elections from AI mischief.

I have half a dozen sideloaded apps on my Android phone, things like BBC iPlayer to watch with a VPN. There is no reason for me to give these app just to try a different phone brand. If I can sideload whatever apps I want, it will be an apples to apples comparison on price and features, no pun intended. Not as good as being able to customize your system image on many Android phones, but serves most common needs.

I use uBlock Origin, and I haven't seen any new behavior yet.

I use uBlock Origin (and ScriptSafe, and other layers of tools), and I'm getting a mixed bag. Ad audio plays, but the ad video is black, and only at the start of a video, with no interruptions while watching. I'm sure I can update/kick uBlock to fix that if I want, but it's the least annoying YouTube ad behaviour I've experienced, so I'm not in a rush to discourage it.

For example, Animal Crossing has some islands running on modded Switches that have any in game items available for free to all visitors. So? Some people don't have the time to play special events year round and just want a particular item for aesthetics. Even if they are cheating, they are only cheating themselves. For e-sports, I agree that it should be tightly controlled environment for fairness, including no macro keyboards unless everyone has one. Even when there are competitions, not all competitions are meant to be taken so seriously, in friendly one tricks can be part of the fun.

Every country/territory/group that embraces it is heading into life of medieval style raids and sieges within decades. If you keep raiding your more technologically advanced neighbor and killing its civilians, you will eventually be neighbors with a barbarian that has better weapons. No exceptions - Pearl Harbor resulted in Hiroshima and 9/11 resulted in Abu Ghraib. CHAZ resulted in Gaza-like conditions in US within weeks. The only way to avoid it is to embrace individualism instead of tribalism and leave in peace with other human beings as full equals. I guess a fallback is to be weak enough that your opponent can defeat you before going full medieval.

Young layabouts prefer FREE over PAID!!

You're assuming teens are sticking to the free tiers of YT. You're also assuming teens are paying for Netflix (rather than riding their parents account). The survey didn't ask anything about the financial angle, so it's a bit of a jump to draw that conclusion.

It's just as likely that teens simply prefer a less curated experience than Netflix.

Look up "Reinheitsgebot" and "Maerzenbier" for two obvious examples.

That's where climate change will make a dent. The EU has a lot of legally-protected brands/styles (beers, cheese, wine, etc, etc) which are tied the climatology of a limited geographic range, and climate change is going to move those areas (and possibly make the style irreproducible through traditional methods).

Which sucks, but it's arguably one of the less troublesome aspects of climate change. Unless you're a producer of one of those protected products.
