Totally agree about the importance of naming, and Freenet has the advantage of literally describing what we're building - a free network.

We've already had interest from everyone from video game developers who want to build a decentralized MMORPG, to political advocacy groups across the political spectrum. Plenty of people value freedom.

You're being surprisingly judgmental when it doesn't seem like you even read the first few paragraphs on the website about it, let alone the other available documentation.

If the Future "Fund" didn't have a endowment--an endowment in the form of cash "fiat" money--or at least a portfolio of conservative assets denominated in "fiat" money--then it was always a shaky reed. There are a LOT of milk choices, I already have to decide between Cow, Oat, Soy, Coconut, Cashew, Flax, Hemp, and Blends/Pea Protein - also unsweetened, original, chocolate, and vanilla for the plant-based options - and skim, 1%, 2%, whole, and A2 for Cow.. If you have to individualize the Qcode, the cost to continue to include a human-readable date is trivial so why not both? But if you do remove the human-readable date, at least have a scanner right by the fridge so I don't have to use my own phone and data.

Having used versions of Windows going back to 2.0, I have to say 2.0 and 3.0 were far worse than WindowsME.

And even the relatively stable 3.1/3.11 releases should have been made TCP/IP friendly far earlier in their life cycle.

Also, grouping Windows 10 and 11 together is not a good idea for this poll. Having used it for a few weeks now, I'd say Windows 11 is a bigger departure from Windows 10 than Windows 10 was from 7.

Aluminum and Steel production are significant carbon producers. (iron & steel production contributes 11% of the human-produced CO2, aluminum about 2%)

No hourly and/or temp employee should be bound by a Non-Compete clause. They serve a purpose when an employee is actually creating IP, but those employees must be compensated adequately for their contributions.

The complaint against what DDoS-Guard was submitted in November, long before Parler fled there. DDoS-Guard had purchased a large block of IP addresses that were for use by Belize-based companies. DDoS-Guard has no other presence in Belize, and is therefore not qualified, so LACNIC is making them forfeit the block of IP addresses. They could have avoided this by simply opening an Internet cafe, but they have NOTHING there.

It makes sense that the provider Parler fled to was a shady operation, so I wouldn't call it ENTIRELY a coincidence. But it is pretty much a coincidence.
