The first people that explored the oceans did it in open top hand rowed boats, sometimes aided by sail. The first time anything is always difficult, and often only makes it after repeated attempts and dumb luck. In addition to being more careful with what we have now we need to continue to explore and expand, entropy is coming for us...

Not when you have done it that way all of your life. Smallest number first, month, then date, then biggest number last, year. Just because you've never done it that way doesn't make it "stupid." It just makes you look small minded if you're unable to see multiple ways of doing something.

Where are the crime reports? The Brady website has a grand total of 3 for the past 10 years... Seems like a lot of crying fire with not even smoke to back it up. And between you and me, I wouldn't want to do anything with these plastic pieces of trash, you're more likely to hurt yourself than whomever you point it at...

Sulphur dioxide is a pretty nasty pollutant, thought to cause asthma in millions of people among other health woes. It's production has been sharply curtailed via "ultra low sulphur diesel" and ammonia injection in motor vehicles. But somewhat ironically it actually has a global cooling effect in the upper atmosphere, thus counteracting to some degree the effects that the release of co2 has. This is true of most of the aerosols that were criticized in the 90s and banned, leading to a corresponding increase in global warming (and hopefully a sharp reduction in respiratory disease). Ain't nothin for freeðY".
