It wasn't just script kiddies though. They, iirc, used hacked consoles, and amazon cloud servers, to force their way in to some area where they had access to psn user data. I'm not sure they ever released how, exactly, it was done though. Seeing as sony rebuilt their entire network, and has suffered no further PSN breached, i'd say they learned their lesson.

No one, outside the anti-sony fanboys, really cared the first time, seeing as most psn users came right back as soon as the system relaunched. Sony was, for most, seen as the victim of the attack, along with it's users, with the blame rightfully falling on the criminals who preformed it. It's not like sony leaked the information, someone broke in and stole it.

They said the wii had potential for motion as well. In all the years it was out, very, very few games came anywhere near that. Most used motion as little as possible. They make not good consoles, but novelty based ones, and then short change on specs to get costs low as possible. I mean, compare 3ds specs to any phone or rival handheld, it's vastly outdated. The wii was the same: push the novelty, and deflect the power arguments. I don't see anything in the wii u that makes me think anything has changed in the Nintendo camp.

Asymmetrical gameplay elements = marketing speak for 'oh shit, they realized our console couldn't support more then one controller without massive resource hits.' It's a work around for a badly designed novelty. It's like shipping a wii, then forcing players 2-4 to use gamecube controllers while one player gets to use the motion controls to play like the console advertised.

I think they made the investment back long ago, seeing as they sold 60 million of them, plus a ton of games. As for admitting they have nothing, I'm not seeing that here. If anything, this is just a parts reduction to lead the console to it's budget days, to prep for a ps4 announcement sometime in the spring or e3. As for passing the savings on, the console launched at 499/599, and is now $250 with a bundle. that's one hell of a price reduction over it's lifespan.

Comment Re:Wow (Score 1) 165

ah, this was probably done so they could reduce the price to make it a budget system, like they did with the PSP, ps1 and ps2 before it. You literally have no idea what your talking about, so blinded by sony hatred as you are.
