It's hard for the average person to accept such a large swing in gas prices in such a short time especially when there are little alternatives. In Europe you have a good mass transit system. You even have Ryan Air for cheap air travel. The US doesn't have nearly as good system of trains and buses.

So when gas prices change like the following:

http://www.randomuseless.info/gasprice/gasprice.html

It puts a strain on people's budget especially during hard economic times.

BTW, I'm a Republican and am no defender of Obama, but I would love to ask the Republican candidates who was in charge when gas prices started to ramp up in the year 2000 and why it did so.

These are the older ones:

The old interface: http://youtu.be/NQdSLOhrVMc

The new interface is in the my previous post. You can also see the size of the remotes in the postings. The newer version's remote is twice the size of the old one. It's not perfect since I wish that it had a qwerty keypad that flipped out. Also, the colored buttons on the new remote are a little confusing to know which to push. But trial and error wins out.

Portability. I have the WDTV Live Streaming device talked about in another thread. This and some of the ones in the parent article are REALLY small. You can have a bunch of ripped movies on a small thumb drive and plug the device into your car's TV. Without an in-car entertainment system you can still pick up a 7"-10" portable LCD and use it with one of these devices in a car. It's a far better system than anything you can buy. Also, having a dozen or so movies on a thumbdrive in Xvid format (or some other format) is way more convenient than DVD's.

Yeah, not sure why they didn't include this. The 2011 version is much better over the previous models and it plays anything you throw at it. The 2011 versions has a MUCH better UI, remote control, and has WiFi. Here is one review:

Note on how the looks are different from previous models. Don't bother with the older models since the UI is that much better.

I plug this into my car's DVD player, put a dozen or so kids movies on a flash drive, and let the kids watch what they want on long trips. No more fumbling for DVD's.

Looking at the specs of the others I don't know why this isn't included.

For ketchup, just put the bottle upside down. Gravity will place all the ketchup at the tip of the bottle. For bottles with nozzles, simply unscrew the top to get the very last spoonful.

Peanut butter on the other hand is more challenging. Natural peanut butter tends to flow easier so is not as much of a problem. But the generic peanut butter is quite sticky.

I think a better solution, that nobody in law enforcement would like, would be to put cameras on police officers and also allow the public to photograph them. That way in a court of law you have evidence that can provide context to any side videos in play.

That assumes the video doesn't mysteriously go missing or the camera doesn't mysteriously malfunction during crucial moments. Both have happened before.

The police can argue context and the benefit of the doubt can be given. However, some video is quite clear that police brutality does happen.

I don't understand why they are so upset with the "analog hole". It's far quicker and easier to simply rip the DVD than to try to record an analog signal in real-time. You're right, if they think their copy protection will keep people from ripping DVD's or BR disks, then they are truly ignorant. Once one person rips it, the video will be shared on the net quite easily. However, capturing and converting the analog signal is a PITA.
