Seen Crime Stoppers recently? Height is still given in feet & inches, as well as cm's. Been to the hardware store recently? 1/4 sockets are still much more useful than 25mm sockets. Flown in an aircraft lately? Altitude, runway length and performance is still expressed in feet, although this is more to do with standardisation across the world. The generation who grew up with imperial is still around, and still in the workforce. We will have to wait until we no longer have any of these generations left, until we can call imperial completely gone. I'd say we are 95% there now, and you are correct in that the 90% of the conversion was relatively quick.

Submission + - Researchers: Pushdo Sent Trillions of Spam Emails (threatpost.com)

Trailrunner7 writes: A new, detailed analysis of the operations of the infamous Cutwail/Pushdo botnet shows that the network, which had been he target of several takedown attempts in the last couple of years, is not only amazingly resilient, but also is incredibly prolific, with one section of the botnet sending more than 1.7 trillion spam messages, and quite profitable, generating as much as $4 million in profits for its owners.

"Overall, records contained on these Cutwail servers dated as far back as June 2009 and reported 516,852,678,718 messages were accepted for delivery out of a total of 1,708,054,952,020 attempts. Note that we obtained roughly one-half to two-thirds of the active Cutwail C&C servers, so the overall numbers are likely higher," the researchers said in their paper.

"The interesting things were just the amount of spam that they were sending and how they operate like a professional business, with detailed statistics and error reporting. This is a real business," researcher Brett Stone-Gross said in an interview.
