Yeah, China is all glossy on the surface but they are a rotting hulk on the inside. The difference between China and the US is that the US has all the food and fuel it can use and China has to import 80% of their fuel and lets just say that their agriculture is abysmal. On top of that they also have a demographic collapse on their hands. In the future, the US is more than likely to have to rescue China because their economy finally collapsed and they are starving to death.

China imports 80% of their oil and most of it comes from the Mid-East. I don't think they can count on America protecting their shipping in the future. You may say, but they have a navy! Yes, but how many hulls can actually do escort duty all the way to the Mid-East and back? I leave it to the curious to do the home work.

We are at the start of a Depression. Thousand dollar plus phones aren't going to sell well. My current 2+ year old phones are working great and one of them has a *gasp* replaceable battery, why upgrade?

No. Become a usable thin client ... maybe. I suspect the next iterations will be much more robust and powerful. I am actually looking at this phone or its replacement as my next daily driver.
