I fully agree with blocking them... I use ghostery, check something like Time.com (Technologizer specifically). There's about twenty separate trackers there.
Unfortunately, disabling some of these will actually break functionality. In this case, there is a Apple II anniversary slide show on technologizer's site and I could not advance through the slides until I enabled the tracking.
