Huh? Washington DC was not designed to be inhabited? Where were all the people who worked in DC supposed to live? The Metro didn't exist in the 1700's buddy. There were no suburbs back then. Wow, you are really clueless. As a homeowner in DC I can say this is one of the best cities to live in, in the US.

If the primary value is gold is that it is "visually pleasing to most people and very useful in many different processes and industries" then why did the value of gold rise over 700% in the last 10 years? Based on your statement it either has become 700% more visually pleasing or 700% more useful for industry. Gold isn't valuable at all, except people choose to invest in it. If there was no gold, some other metal would be used in the industrial processes. Obviously the primary value of gold is for speculation and hedging against uncertainty.

Why? Why is it MY job to pay attention to this? I don't have kids in public school. I don't have time or the inclination to do this. Did you notice that they last "winner" got about $150k as a "reward" and the lawyer feed were $450k? This is a lawyer money grab nothing more. And you and I are paying for it.

I thought the point of the classic experiment was that you couldn't tell which slit they went through, but they were obviously particles because of the impressions they made on the photo-sensitive paper, but they also obviously traveled in waves because of the interference pattern they made at the end of the experiment.

What news program were you watching that said "most of the workers died the next day"? You are saying you were watching a news program where they said "most" of them died the next day. You also said that "5000 - 10000" workers were used PER DAY. Based on that and assuming "most" is around 80% that means that 4,000-8,000 died PER DAY or 28,000-48,000 PER WEEK, which is different than 6k-10k per week you just said above.

You see, numbers are funny things, and math is even funnier.
