Journal Journal: Kerry argued for a pre-emptive war in 97 3

The wasghington times reveals what Kerry said during a Crossfire show in 97.

So reveals Rep. Peter King, New York Republican, who appeared with Mr. Kerry on the program.
Mr. King says the U.N. Security Council had just adopted a resolution against Iraq that was watered down at the behest of the French and the Russians. Yet the candidate who now criticizes President Bush for ignoring French and Russian objections to the Iraq war blasted the two countries, claiming that they were compromised by their business dealings with Baghdad.
"We know we can't count on the French. We know we can't count on the Russians," said Mr. Kerry. "We know that Iraq is a danger to the United States, and we reserve the right to take pre-emptive action whenever we feel it's in our national interest."
While no "Crossfire" transcripts from 1997 are available, Mr. King in recent days produced a tape of the show, sharing it with New York radio host Monica Crowley for broadcast, and this Inside the Beltway column for publication.

Your Rights Online: Is IP Property?
Posted by michael on 11:10 09 September 2004
from the bundle-of-sticks dept.

Lemley's distinction also points to the unusual fact that in IP, traditional liberals are often calling for less and less government, while conservatives demand regulation in order to protect their exclusive right to use their intellectual creations

Journal Journal: France annuls first same-sex marriage

News article at Yahoo News.

Here is a small excerpt.
The marriage stirred controversy in France, where the law allows civil unions between homosexuals although gays say this puts them at a disadvantage in terms of tax, inheritance and adoption rights.

This is our future if we cave in to civil unions. For once we can use the far too often heard cry of "Think of the children". They deserve to have the optimal family configuration that requires a mother and a father.

Journal Journal: Disappointed by TMBG

When I saw an article posted about TMBG I was excited because I love their music. So I check out the article and find out that TMBG is involved with MoveOn.org.

Doh!

So I go back and look at who posted the article.... (drumroll please)..... Michael

A curse on you michael. May your shoes be filled with Jello. For constantly pushing your agenda on slashdot, and for causing me to know the truth about TMBG. I was happy to be in the dark about their activism. Ignorance it truly bliss.

Oh well....

Journal Journal: The mod bombers strike again. 2

My previous post saw the light of day for a few hours. It rose to +3 insightful overnight, but was smacked down to 1 flamebait in an hour this morning. Thanks to all those that tried to point out the absurdity of a flamebait mod to a post that uses thought, factual quotes, and leaves out personal attacks.

Maybe a sig change is in order.
If you disagree with me please reply, rather than mod me down to silence me.

Journal Journal: Check out this post 2

Whew, I haven't put this much effort into a post in a long time.

Now lets see if I get modded into oblivion for making a logical point.

Yup, I did. I'm already at -1 Flamebait

It's funny. Laugh.

Journal Journal: Howard Dean, Confused 'Metrosexual' 1

White House wannabe Howard Dean, trolling for votes in trendy Denver and Boulder, Colo., declared himself a "metrosexual" but later admitted, "I don't know what it means."

It's too bad South Park already aired the metrosexual episode. I would have liked to see Dean in it.

Journal Journal: A new troll is born today 12

Looks like the Ann Coulter troll is stirring up all the geniuses on slashdot today. Interesting troll tactics. Use a well known conservative name and use over the top flawed arguments to flame libs. The clueless libs flame back, and the clueless conservatives flame them.

Journal Journal: Economy Grows at Fastest Rate Since 1984

Gross Domestic Product Leaps Ahead

"The economy grew at a scorching 7.2 percent annual rate in the third quarter in the strongest pace in nearly two decades."
"The 7.2 percent pace marked the best showing since the first quarter of 1984."

Yeah, I can sure see why Bush is such a "miserable failure". Things like this just show how his economic plan is "destroying America".
