Same crap when you buy something in person anywhere and the local store manager says "you have to call corporate". FWIW protect yourself from this crap with a service like privacy.com or something jeez. Never put and endless source of money into a subscription site. It's a source of headaches.

I do, but I don't take their "deals". I just buy the phone I want and agree to an interest free loan. It works out for me, and I'm careful with my devices.. I don't get the new thing every year, but when I need to replace, it's helpful to be able to get the phone on the plan and pay it off during a windfall.

When I was in high school, back in 1996 we had a network of IBM PCs throughout the building. It was high tech at the time. Novell networking, 5 servers named Alpha Beta Delta, the works. Well, I never used the "Gamma" server, so I opened a Microsoft Works document on it, and gave my password to everyone. We treated it like a bulletin board and it was a ton of fun. Some don't realize that a few of us 35-40 year olds may not think like they do. And FWIW, Toyota makes possibly the most reliable vehicles, and their history proves they have been doing it a long time. You can bet your ass they have electric tech in the works, and will roll it out long after Tesla and others make "all the mistakes". Toyota's are known for being a bit behind the times, but their doodads and features don't break after 5 years. FYI, 08 RX350 owner. The only repair it needs is new front struts. At 140k miles.

I was self taught. First program? Typing from a book into a TRS-80 when I was 8yrs old. Now I'm 40. I have worked at the same company in the IT dept as a full stack software dev (M$ Stack) for the past 10 years. 100% self taught. I did go to college but I dropped out my 3rd year. I would never claim to be a pro, and I still Google mostly everything because we try to keep up with the latest things (just started working with dotnet core3.1 and DevOps in azure for CI. Long story short, I tried to do the traditional path of college to a job, but I suck at "class work and theory" and I found I excelled learning from others and working in a team. Find a job the fosters learning in a way that works for you, and make it an integral part of your job to learn.

I am happy it returns the stackoverflow articles and other crap I need for my job... but if you try to Google ANYTHING controversial, "hateful" or just trying to find others with like minded views (regardless of public opinions), Google is there to tell you how wrong you are... try it ... Do a Google search for "I hate ...." and replace the .... with any oppressed group. You will find a million answers showing you are wrong and a bad person. Is this good? Is it biased? I should at the minimum find one or two private pages with hate speech. Speech is free in America.
