(Note: this indeed appears to be for regular (wired) internet access, not mobile broadband)

So yes, it would probably take longer than 24 hours to use this up, but a 250gb limit is ridiculous for your fastest and most expensive package. In the UK, ISPs such as Sky or BT provide unthrottled access for c. £25 + £15 line rental per month; you can easily download more than 250gb using one of those puny 20Mbit ADSL connections (which in reality probably means

It's not water or oxygen, but it does enable a lot of cool things, and there's no reason for it to be so expensive compared to other Western nations.

There's trouble (a parking ticket with a $100 fine) and then there's trouble

The burden of proof for the latter (or any other life-ruining penalty) should be much higher. This is not proportionate, even if it is proven that she did it herself.

Blaming her for negligence doesn't make sense. IANAL, but poor / no security (e.g. a failure to encrypt an internet connection or encrypting it with WEP, leaving a car unlocked that is subsequently used to commit a crime etc.) is not an act of negligence that should result in penalties such as these in any rational legal system.

If anyone disagrees, can they please represent me against Sony for exposing my credit card details (as part of the PSN hack)?

While Taco Cowboy's arguments about the horrible stuff they feed animals are important to note, it's also important to note that non-organic agriculture involves using fertilizers and pesticides that pollute the environment, killing the organisms that naturally regenerate the fertility of the soil, as well as processes that lead to desertification, algal bloom and other disruptions to natural ecosystems.

So in fact many well-informed people who eat organic food, do so to preserve the environment, and consider non-organic agriculture to be the "Hummer" of the farming world.

and more helpfully:

Having said that, it looks like gentoo linux might be your best bet for getting linux on there given that it already supports StrongArm:

Submission + - Porting linux to device 3

aust.petrol writes: Hello — I'm getting an old Symbol PDT 8146, and I was wondering if anyone had any tips on how to reverse engineer Linux for it?

I've tried looking for premade distributions, and nobody has done it. I've been programming for years, some C, no Kernel coding though.

Does anyone have any experience with this? What are the major hurdles? How does one test the builds on the device?

The version of Pocket PC that comes with them is too old for my purposes, but it's basically a little PC with a barcode scanner and wifi, which is exactly what I'm after for my project!

Thanks!

An anonymous reader writes: The BBC reports that RLP, a legal firm that sues shoplifters on behalf of retail groups, has shown its ignorance of the Streisand Effect by attempting to censor The Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) and other consumer websites. RLP has accused CAB of harassment and is demanding that they and other consumer websites remove all 'defamatory posts' and publications. This is the latest salvo in a long running battle and although organisations like CAG (Consumer Action Group) have removed some offending posts, CAB and the Legal Beagles website are refusing to remove content and have accused RLP of trying to stifle reporting of adverse court judgements against them.
