That is so far from the truth that even a map would not help.

Gamergate as said by another was corruption in game reviews. It was discovered that someone reviewing a game had a personal relationship with said woman which was not disclosed. It got even worse when game "journalists" banded together to twist the truth and outright lie about what was going on, treating the people who would be into games or read their reviews like trash.

I was thinking the same thing. You can't just discredit someones review because they were not the target demographic, you ether make a good show or not and none of this crap when you get bad review scores.

If a site does not let you use an ad blocker...go someplace else.

I never used automatic updates though I don't know all the updates that need to be avoided so I only got the ones I known about to stop the nagging.

What I don't get is why is the original OS/settings not stored in some read only memory where say the OS gets a virus the user would then be given an option to restore the software to factory and then fix it from there. Sure it is not the most ideal of soultions, but it is still a good one that a virus would not likely be able to destroy.

Because some updates are ether not needed or may cause problems say break things or were not properly tested. Or maybe data caps and not want their system to download large files when they have a cap to worry about or just a slow connection or something.
