VDOM WAFS were built for sites that needed streaming/dynamic content - client-side pub/sub systems that update the DOM dynamically basically. They're trying to make HTML browsers look and act like native apps where lots of dynamic data is concerned. I see a lot of mostly static web sites trying to be single page apps when there's absolutely zero reason to do so. We older folks are always like "hrrrr, what problem are we trying to solve here??" and the answer is pretty much we already decided to use it because all the forums says it's the most popular, and we have to keep up with the times because Bookface and Twitchat and the Goorgles all use it. Plus it supports server-side rendering so don't worry about it you old fart - but you have to run node.js on the backend to do that.. so good luck all you Java/C++/C developers and computer science nerds. Oh BTW it's single threaded but don't worry its faster and scalier than anything.
